Board Approval and Permits are Required
If you are considering making physical changes to your property you will need a permit. But before you apply for a permit, you will need to submit your plans and remodel fee to the FSIA office. Contact the FSIA office to find out the current remodel fee. The Architecture Committee will review the plans and will make an initial recommendation (approve or deny) to the Board. The Board maintains the decision to approve or deny the plans or request more information.
If the plans are approved, the FSIA Office will provide you an approval letter that you will need to submit, along with your plans, to the Pacifica Planning Department when requesting the permit.
The Board and Architecture Committee review plans to determine that the plans are in compliance with your CC&Rs.
Applying for a Building Permit
For those of you who have applied for a building permit, you know that the process is manual. To summarize the process, you or your contractor needs to pick-up or download the Application for Building Permit form, complete the form, and submit the form and plans to the Planning department office. The aforementioned process is required whether you are remodeling your entire kitchen or simply replacing a furnace.
As of November 12, 2014 the Pacifica Planning Department made available a web site whereby you can submit your application, for small building projects, online.
